Chain of custody
How every delivery is handled.
How we handle specimens, prescriptions, and medical supplies, from pickup to drop-off.
The five chain-of-custody steps
- 01
Pickup verification
The driver confirms the pickup against the order, checks that packages are sealed or tamper-evident, and records the handoff with a signature and time stamp.
- 02
Sealed in transit
Packages stay sealed as provided by the shipper. Drivers do not open totes, bags, or specimen containers, and items go directly to the destination on the assigned run.
- 03
Handling instructions
We follow the packaging and handling instructions the shipper provides for each delivery.
- 04
Delivery & proof
At drop-off, the driver hands the package to the designated recipient, captures a signature, and records a time-stamped proof of delivery.
- 05
Exceptions reported
If a seal looks compromised or a recipient is unavailable, the driver does not leave the package unattended and contacts the shipper for instructions.
Patient privacy
Handled with patient privacy in mind.
We handle deliveries with patient privacy in mind (HIPAA-aware). Patient information on labels and paperwork is treated as confidential and used only to complete the delivery. Drivers do not photograph, copy, or share patient details.
